Engine & Performance

Jaguar XJ offers a choice of two petrol engines and one diesel engine. A 3.0 liter V6 diesel LWB provides a power of 275 PS. The 5.0 liter V8 petrol LWB provides a power of 385 PS and 5.0 liter V8 petrol Supercharged LWB provides a maximum power of 510 PS.All the three engines are connected to 6-speed automatic transmissions.There are three XJ models. These are XJ Premium Luxury, XJ Portfolio and XJ Supersport.

Exterior

The XJ models incorporate panoramic sunroof. This gives a luxurious and voluminous feel to the cabin. The glass roof is full-width and extends from the topmost of the windscreen to the anterior of the rear seating arrangement. The tinted glass has been given a reflective coating. This prevents unwanted heating of the cabin. It also provides convenient dual electric blinds that are meant for privacy.The headlamps are equipped with ‘bi-function HID Xenon’ lamps. These function automatically when it gets dark. These headlamps also provide a deeper and brighter beam at the corners for added safety. During parking they provide extra light.The rear bumper has sensors integrated into it. These detect any form of objects within a distance of 1.8 m.The car rides on 19-in Toba alloy wheels. Wider tyres and wheels are added to the rear of the car. This helps in maximizing the vehicle’s grip. At the rear a sculpted slab features the Jaguar name.This adds an element of glamour and embellishment to the car.

Interior

The interiors of the XJ models are spacious and are wrapped in the finest of materials. The car has been heavily laden with leather than any other Jaguar vehicle. Starting from the seats, the centre console, the instrument panel, the armrests to the door tops all are wrapped in leather. The XJ Supersport model also has the headlining in leather.Jaguar provides a wide variety of color themes and different grade choices in leather for the interior. Also the car is fitted with a four zone climate control air-conditioner.Jaguar Sense makes the glove box open or console lights turn on with the touch of a single button.Foldable trays are placed behind the front seats. These are finished in skillfully crafted wood veneer.A screen is fitted into the centre console. The rear camera projects what is behind the car into the screen for added guidance.Video screens can also be fixed in the centre console or on the back of the front seats’ headrests. This allows viewing of television and videos.

A range of safety features have been incorporated into the car. The chassis has been made of magnesium and aluminum which makes the car exceptionally strong.Airbags and pre-tensioner seatbelts are some of the standard features. Anti-lock braking system with Emergency Brake Assist adds stability and control to the car.The car is protected by engine immobilizer and alarms. The doors lock automatically when the car reaches a specific speed. This speed can be pre-set by the driver.
