Chevrolet Trailblazer 

Chevrolet India brings the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV to impact the Indian SUV market in a big way. The Trailblazer with its modern looks, potent engines and spacious exteriors is to take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra XUV500. Carrying a price tag in the range of Rs. 15 -17 lakh, the Trailblazer aims to dominate the SUV sector.

Engine and performance

Placed under the Premium category, the SUV is expected to have a power-packed, masculine engine offered in two engine tunes- 2.5 litre and 2.8 litre Duramax diesel engines. The 2.5 litre variant has 16 valves and 4 cylinders and powers a maximum torque of 470 Nm at 2000 rpm, kicking out 150 bhp of maximum power. On the other hand, the 2.8 litre variant puts out a maximum power of 180 bhp and a peak torque of 480 Nm. The Engine is coupled to a 6-speed automatic gear box that amplifies the driving experience. The engine also makes use of geometry turbo, a balance shaft for smooth running and a laminated steel oil pan. The car has got amazing acceleration and pick up. It touches atop speed of 170knph. On an average, it delivers a decent fuel efficiency of about 12 to 13 kmpl.

Exteriors

The seven seater Trailblazer looks captivating with its typical bow-tie grille and large dual projector headlamps. The hood has power dome design and the raised cowl gives it an intimidating look. The grille is neatly outlined with chrome and there is a thick chrome band incorporated in the lower bumper. The LED lights are placed in sculpted aluminum bezels in the front and back. The bonnet stands high and the huge ground clearance means even the 20 inch wheels look small. The wheel arches are massive. The side foot-board protector and the 20 inch wheels give it a perfect off-roader look. Rear is elegant with futuristic design of tail-lamps. In short, the trailblazer looks agile and athletic from the outside.

Interiors

The SUV that has a seating arrangement for 7 comes with a spacious bold design. The interior features a flowing instrument panel and typical Chevy dual cockpit design. The central stack integrates the HVAC system with the on-board infotainment system. The light colored leather seating renders a premium feel to the car. It has three-row tumble and fold-flat versatility. What is more, the third row offers ample space as well. Inside, the Trailblazer is expected to be loaded with features such as dual zone climate control, GPS navigation, DVD drive, blue-tooth, USB and AUX-in ports

Features specifications

Being an off-roader, the Trailblazer is equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels for efficient braking. Independent suspension with gas shock absorbers are used to ensure a bump-free ride. The car comes equipped with standard safety features such as ABS, EBD, air bags, traction control and dynamic stability control. Besides, the SUV employs Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist to tackle difficult terrains and hilly regions.
