New Model Upcoming Tata Sumo Extreme •
The
Tata Sumo remains one of the favorite 4X4b drives in India and has been going
strong for generation. It was long overdue a facelift. Tata Motors have now
announced the revised version of the car which they have named the Tata Sumo
Extreme in the 2014 Auto Expo. It is the same Sumo which has been reinforced
for army use. No official launch date is available, but it may appear in the
market by end 2015.
Tata Sumo Extreme: price, variants and specifications
The
Tata Sumo Extreme is fitted with 2.0 liter CR4 engine which has a displacement
of 2956 cc. It generates 85 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is mated to a
five speed manual transmission. The 4X4 drive can be selected with a knob as
you move. The car has a fuel tank capacity of 65 liters. The car is
fitted with a clutch of 260 mm dia High performance. Disc brakes are provided
in the front while drum brakes are present in the rear. The car is fitted with
a double wishbone with coil springs suspension in the front while there is
parabolic left rear suspension. This two has been combined to deliver a simple
yet sturdy driving experience.

Exterior
The
external appearance of the Tata Sumo Extreme leaves no one in any doubt that
this vehicle is meant to completely dominate the road. While the front fascia
has not been changed to any remarkable degree, the four roof mounted lamps
attract the eyes of the viewers at first glance. The all round body cladding
not only increases the protection but gives the car the appearance of a true
off road vehicle. The bright orange color combined with black bumpers and the
blacked out pillars and tinted windows contribute towards the aggressive look
of the car. Another attention grabbing feature of this car is the new alloy
wheels which come with all terrain tubeless tyres with an aggressive tread
pattern. The fifth wheel is mounted on the back and adds to the aggressive look
of the rear of the car. LED daytime running lights complete the external
package.
Interior
The
bright orange and black color scheme on the body of the car is continued with
red and black upholstery in the interior. This is a seven seater car and there
is ample space inside. Storage space is provided in various nooks and crannies
in the car.
Features and specifications
The
car is made for tough situations rather than luxurious comfort, but it still
has a number of comfort features. They include power assisted steering, central
locking, seat belts, remote fuel filler, rear wiper and defogger, power windows
and air conditioning system with roof mounted system. A music system provides
on board entertainment. It has Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This seven
seater SUV is spacious and comfortable, but it is best known for completely
