Tata Aria
The Tata Aria has been
launched as competition for the Toyota Innova. This car is not as popular as
the Innova yet, but it can certainly provide the car some amount of
competition. The lower end of Tata Aria has been priced at Rs 9,95,000. The biggest USP of the car, which would help in its
competition against the Innova would be the styling and the design of the car.
There are a lot of features in the car as well. But the fact still remains that
the car is slightly on the more expensive range, as a result of which many
people looking for a medium priced SUV will lose interest in the same. The Aria
is a 7 seater multi- utility vehicle.
Engine
& Performance
The car comes with a
2179 cc, 4- cylinder diesel engine. The car is powerful enough to generate 140
PS at 4000 rpm. The car can generate a torque of 320 Nm at 1700 rpm as well.
The engine is mated with a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Exteriors

Interiors
The car has fog lamps
to help off road driving. The car supports keyless entry and there are rear A/C
vents for those sitting in the back as well. There are a lot of key features
such as audio system, mounted controls on the steering wheel. Some features, such
as, LCD screen, air bags, dual mass fly wheel, ABS with EBD etc. There is a
lack of the roof mounted storage as well. This does not only compromise on the
safety of the car, it also compromises the car's storage capacity and comfort.
The car has an individual door open warning, disc brakes, computer aided
network, driver info system, seat belt reminders, ORVM, automatic door lock in
case of accidents, etc.

While the car does
have some promise and can provide the Innova with competition some day, it is
not there yet, for a lot of vital features are missing, which certainly brings
down the desirability of the car.
